The Union of composers and bastakors of Uzbekistan was founded in 1938. November 7, 1995 by the decision of the X Congress adopted a new Charter. The Union of composers and bastakors of Uzbekistan is a creative public organization of professional composers and musicologists, acting on the basis of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the present Charter.

The Union of composers and bastakors of Uzbekistan has the following goals and objectives:

  • Assists the development of the Uzbek national music, music of other peoples living in Uzbekistan, the preservation of their traditions, moral and aesthetic education, spiritual enrichment of people;
  • Actively promotes the creativity of composers and musicologists of Uzbekistan in the Republic and abroad.
  • Actively participates in the work of creative commissions, art tips
  • Promotes music education institutions in the preparation of composers and musicologists
  • Conducts national and international festivals, meetings, concerts
  • Organizes musicological conferences, symposiums and seminars
  • Holds competitions for the creation of musical works, musical works
  • Promotes publishing, recording and promotion of Uzbek traditional music, the composers and the works of scholars member

Currently, more than 120 members of the Union are active creative activity.
Major events organized by the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan

  • International festival of symphonic music - 1998, 2000, 2002, 2005. the Festival was attended by musicians from more than 20 countries of the world.
  • Republican competition of vocalists named after N. Akhmedova - 2002, 2005, 2007, 2011.
  • International competition of vocalists named after N. Akhmedova - 2009;
  • Music festivals "Davr adalari - I, II, III 2004-2005, 2008, 2013. The festival was full of works in various genres composers of Uzbekistan. Including operas, ballets, musical drama, Symphony, symphonic works, chamber instrumental and vocal chamber pieces, pop music.
  • "Kuz Navolari" international music festival - 2006.

  • The Republican contest of songs "Uzbekistan - Vatanim manim"
  • The Republican contest of songs “Yagonasan, Muqaddas Vatan”
