NADIM NORKHODJAEV (born in 1947 in Tash­kent), graduated from the Tashkent State conser­vatory, having specialized on composition (1972), assistant professor.

N.Norkhodjaev  appeared in the scene of Uzbek music culture in the 1970s. His first works were related with assimilation of large forms. Among them a symphony, synfonietta, the concerto for piano and cantata deserve an atten­tion, being the compositions witnessed the de­veloped style of their author. But the most ap­preciable success of N.Norkhodjaev is related with the genre of the variety song. This sphere of creative work comprises the largest part of his works. It is interesting that the first example of children's variety song was also composed by N.Norkhodjaev. A lot of songs have been written by the composer for children and such songs as "Good boy", "Hello, Song Holiday", "My ques­tion to the Peach" are particularly popular. The composer has also dedicated music-stage compo­sitions to children. Particularly, his musical tales "The child says: “Mum”, "Chicks" are success­fully performed in Tashkent and Fergana theatres.

Variety songs of N.Norkhodjaev  to the adult audience are also very popular. Many of them formed the golden fund of the Uzbek radio, being entered on repertoire of famous singers of Uzbekistan. The songs of the composer are in-dispen-sable participants of many competitions, where they were often awarded prize-places. For example, such songs as "Ancient Turon", "We are descendants of Alpomish", "I'm a warrior" became laureates of the military-patriotic song competition.

The creative work of N.Norkhodjaev won the recognition in Uzbekistan, as well as abroad (in Ethiopia, Spain, France, Germany and Egypt).

Side by side with the composer's activity, N.Norkhodjaev does an active social work. He is the Department chairman of the Union of composers of Uzbekistan, a member of the Art Council of the Uzbek television and Radio Company, a member of jury at many republic song competitions. He is also an assistant professor at the State Conservatory of Uzekistan.
